Art Clay Silver Leaf
(Metal Clay) One-day class 3 hours $85 In this class, you will learn how to design, create, and complete a pure fine silver pendant or a pair of earrings using natural leaves for organic texture and design.
The leaves will be coated in metal clay, then filed and fired. The natural leaves burn off, leaving a pure, fine silver leaf imprint behind. You will also learn the burnishing techniques that help bring outshine or dimension in your organic created jewelry. |
Jewelry and Metals I
One-day class 3 to 4 hours $85 Learn the basics of jewelry-making. You will focus on drilling, sawing, filing, sanding, polishing and design.
You will also learn the properties of metals like copper, brass, and silver and learn about tools. You will then create a copper or brass pendant. |
Jewelry and Metals II
Two-day class 3 hours each $170 Session one: Learn how to safely set up a soldering station, ignite your torch, anneal, and begin to solder metal together. You will focus on cutting and shaping the metals and learn the basics of soldering with silver. You will then learn how to make a sterling silver ring.
Session two: Further develop your basic metalsmithing skills. You will learn bezel setting, wrapping bezels, and soldering/setting a round or oval cabochon stone. This is a great class if you want to learn how to add colorful stones to your work and increase your fabricating skills. You will create a silver ring or pendant using the cabochon stone. |

Meet Your Instructor
Negar Shams is a professional jeweler and designer who graduated from University of Westminster in London, with an L.L.M degree in 2006. Her creative personality was a very strong motive for her to start learning in the world of art. She began her journey by taking professional advertising photography and jewelry-making classes. She has held numerous jewelry shows since she officially started her career in the industry in 2012.
Her pieces are all exclusively designed and handcrafted using 18K Gold, 99% Silver, Sterling Silver, as well as eye-catching glamorous stones selected for their distinctive features. Combining ancient techniques like Enameling, engraving and oxidizing with modern metalsmithing methods has made her pieces very unique and special.
